Westgate Protected Learning Time

To maintain our high standard of patient care, our practice training afternoons will be held on the dates listed below from 13:00 to 18:30. During these times, clinical availability will be limited.

If your request is non-urgent, we kindly advise you to submit our usual online form the following day, or alternatively, complete the “I have an admin or routine care request” form, and we will respond on the next working day. If your issue is urgent, please contact the practice on 01543 416633, and the duty doctor will advise you on the options available.

Enhanced access

These surgeries may be particularly suitable for those who find it difficult to attend during normal surgery hours.

On Mondays and Thursdays (excluding bank holidays), we offer late surgeries (between 6:30pm and 8pm) with the nursing team at Westgate, Greenhill Health Centre. These appointments must be booked in advance.

We also offer some Saturday appointments with a GP or advanced nurse practitioner, at Samuel Johnson community hospital. These appointments must also be booked in advance.

Please note that these appointments are with those doctors available on the day and not necessarily the doctor of your choice.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Out of hours services provided by Lichfield and Burntwood PCN

Lichfield and Burntwood Primary Care Network (PCN) and its member GP practices use GP Connect to make appointments at the out of hours hub.

GP connect is a service that enables authorised out of hours doctors and advanced clinical practitioners to quickly and efficiently and in real time, view your full GP medical records from your own GP practice at your out of hours appointment. This includes medications, referrals and other key clinical information to make a better and more informed decision about your treatment.
