The Westgate Practice are working in partnership with Langton Medical Practice in order to plan and deliver the Covid-19 Booster Programme. Samuel Johnson Community Hospital has kindly offered the use of part of its premises to host this programme whilst the Westgate Practice continues to deliver its usual appointments and services from Greenhill Health Centre.
Important to note:
- Only those eligible for the Covid-19 Booster, will be called. This includes people aged 50 and over, people who live and work in care homes, frontline health and social care workers, people aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19, carers aged 16 and over, and people aged 16 and over who live with someone who is more likely to get infections.
- The Booster vaccine will be Pfizer, regardless of previous vaccinations (unless there is a medical reason why this should not be given). This will mean a 15 minute wait following vaccination.
- The Booster dose can only be given 6 months after the second dose and no earlier.
The Practice began to administer second doses from 9th April 2021. Therefore booster doses will become due week commencing 11th Oct 2021. The Practice will contact you either by text or letter to inform you that you are now due your booster and to book following the instructions given.
The Practice requests that you do not call the surgery to enquire about these boosters and to be patient as we can only deliver the vaccines at the speed at which they are supplied.
