Child Health and Flu Vaccinations

In order to meet NHS guidelines and to manage the challenges of both social distancing and PPE requirements, our ‘flu clinics will be running with a different format this year.

You will need to book an appointment for your child; this will allow us to control the numbers of patients at the surgery at any one time.

Please note: We will send out an individual ‘invitation to book’ and only when you have received this will you be able to book. These will be sent out by letter or text. Booking can be done online via Patient Access or by telephone by calling between 10am-3pm.

The most important difference to note is that you will need to complete and submit a Child Flu Immunisation Form found on our website at least 3 days prior to the date of the appointment.  If this is not completed, your appointment will be cancelled.

All Child Flu clinics are strictly by appointment only.

Attending Child Flu Clinics:

We respectfully request that only one adult bring the child to their appointment.  Children should only attend for a flu vaccine if they are well, otherwise please cancel the appointment and rebook when your child is feeling better.  Please attend the pre booked appointment wearing a face covering/mask, arriving no more than 5 minutes before your booked time. Please note your appointment time may vary from that specified.

Please Note: Only children aged 2 or 3 on 31st August 2020 (children born 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2018) and those at risk will be vaccinated at the GP Surgery.  All primary school children and year 7 children at secondary school will be offered the child flu vaccination at school in the near future.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
