What is an NHS Health Check?
The NHS Health Check programme aims to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and certain types of dementia. Everyone who has not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions or have certain risk factors, will be invited (once every five years) to have a check to assess their risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes and will be given support and advice to help them reduce or manage that risk.
How do I get an NHS Health Check?
If you're in the 40-74 age group without a pre-existing condition, you can expect to receive a letter from us inviting you for a free NHS Health Check. Don't worry if you haven't had your invitation yet, as you will be invited over the next few years. If you prefer not to wait for your letter you can book an appointment now. Phone 01543 416633 and ask for an NHS Health Check appointment. These appointments are available at both Greenhill Health Centre or our Shenstone Surgery.
